In 1973, their 12 year old daughter was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer, and was given 3 months to live. Through circumstance they met a Tibetan trained healer through their family medical doctor. JoAnn feels through the healers work, the creator, and the crystal skull, Max had helped to extend their daughters life by 3 years, with no explanation from the medical doctors. JoAnn ended up working for the healer for 4 1/2 years not really knowing why. Before Lama Norbu died, he gave the cherished artifact to JoAnn and her husband telling them "to take care of the skull and one day you will know what it is all about". JoAnn knew nothing about crystal skulls, so she placed Max in a box in the closet for 10 years. Through JoAnn's open mind and destiny, Max the crystal skull came out of the closet and into the world. JoAnn and Max have been on a spiritual path for 21 plus years through out the US and Europe, allowing people to experience, interact, and connect to self through this tool.

"My First Time" Stories... come share yours. I tried to block out the temptation of the shower in the background. It seemed to get louder and louder. My mind quickly went to Abeni standing in the shower alone. I imagined us together soaking in newness. She was a beautiful woman free of labels. Abeni had heavenly pecan skin with a splash of freckles, a natural wave to her short hair and a sexy thick figure that she tried to hide. Not to mention a wonderful personality to go along with the sex appeal that she carried so well. The sound of water brought me back to my present thoughts and I found myself getting undressed. In my mind I talked myself out of getting into that shower several times, but I continued walking that path that felt like eternity. I opened the door and walked in. Silently I prayed she wouldn’t turn me away. With heart pounding I slid the shower doors back and there she was, beautifully naked and wide-eyed. I noticed that people tend to define themselves by the material things they hold and only assume that others do the same. These things are all temporary; all will lose worth and fade away, but our connection to God is eternal and His economy will never fail. So many times; when I am so filled and excited about God working in my life people ask, "How much did you get paid?" They don’t comprehend the value of the joy I receive from the opportunities God has given me to spread the Word He has sown in my heart. They think in a little box, abundance of all kinds could only come hand to hand, deed for deed and quid pro quo, but I must always explain that God is my accountant, business manager and financial adviser. Often the things I do for the Kingdom have very little to do with the way I get paid. It usually comes through the back door and my back door needs to be a loading dock because the Gifts are tremendous! The other day I was involved in a conversation that started with me explaining that all things get taken care of in my life. God always provides for me and my family in one way or another. I decided to leave a job that was not a good fit for me. He asked what I was going to do to make a living and I answered, “Whatever God leads me to do.” He laughed and thought I was crazy. In his mind there is no God and only one way to be fruitful. Giving freely from your heart and using the Gift within to prosper was not included in his tiny package. I knew that my present position was no longer a good fit for me. The mission I had there was already finished. God was now answering my prayers and bringing me to my next opportunity to serve. What ever I told him in regards to this seemed to fall on deaf ears. It was not getting through the thick liner of his tiny box. His God was money and he had a firm belief that the only way to experience steady abundance was to work harder for it. Chapter 1: Crawling out of bed at 3 in the morning, I warmed up my motorcycle, as I looked at the stars in the sky. I wondered what the impending day had in store for me. Stop lights and few headlights were my only company as I drove my motorcycle in the dark, to a parking garage near the King Street train station. The luggage compartments attached to my BMW motorcycle were packed tight with my travel bags for a three-to-four day stay in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I had a 10 a.m. appointment in Vancouver, so I had to catch the red-eye from Seattle at 5 a.m. Once I was on the train, I was wide-awake. The two hour trip gave me an opportunity to scan the sports page and stock market section of the paper, and to write some poetry on my laptop. After I arrived in Vancouver, I rode the street trolley down to the wharf. Daybreak, overcast skies and the fresh sea air pulled me back into a sleepy haze. I started to stroll along the wharf; the sky above me was changing fast. The sun, hazy through the thick clouds, gave off an eerie moon like appearance. The morning fog would burn off soon. The thought of the sun coming out later and warming my hide gave me a peaceful feeling. After my appointment today, there might be a chance to wander through the park with my camera. Maybe I could fi nd women to put in my camera’s eye, sun-backed silhouettes of beauty that could be used in my art. This is a snippet of Alvin Lloyd Alexander Horn's highly acclaimed novel "Brush Strokes."

Joshua Shapiro is known as a Crystal Skull Explorer. He has worked with various friends over the years, to offer numerous special public events related to the crystal skulls including recently, various festivals and conferences where several crystal skulls and their guardians have come together. Joshua saw his first ancient crystal skull in San Jose, California in 1983, made from amethyst quartz crystal which is known as "Ami". Over the years, Joshua (now working closely with Katrina Head) has given numerous presentations throughout the U.S., Europe, South America and Australia. He is also a crystal skull investigator and author and the co-caretaker of more than 10 crystal skulls. Joshua Shapiro is the coordinator for the World Mystery Research Center, a non-profit center setup to research various world mysteries from both a scientific and paranormal perspective.
